It likes full sun, loose open soil (porous), and tolerates drought conditions well. The upper Coyote Creek Trail above Cerritos Regional Park is a great ride: fresh, smooth blacktop and few users.

The BB&PP runs from Carruthers Park up the old Pacific Electric Red Car line to Lakewood Blvd. Not a bad park.
